Rev. Stacey Mims

& Rev. Dr. Lynn Mims, Co-Pastors

​Barak Christian Church was co-founded in 2004 by Rev. Stacey Mims and Rev. Dr. Lynn R. Mims.​

​

Before cofounding Barak, Dr. Mims was pastor of one the leading African-American United Methodist Churches in St. Louis. While there, he developed a multifaceted outreach program that included a child development center, a welfare to work initiative, and a children’s breakfast program. In 1997, he founded A New Cornerstone Inc. to address the need for a faith based response to the issues of unemployment, drug abuse, recidivism and family disintegration. He holds master’s and doctorate degrees in theology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, his hometown.


Dr. Mims is married the lovely to Rev. Stacey Mims. Rev. Stacey accepted the call to pastor and to preach in 1997 at Union Memorial United Methodist Church, where she developed three successful Welfare to Work Programs. She holds a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary and is a certified Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP) facilitator. In addition to leading the administration of Barak, she teaches classes at Barak LMD School of Learning.​
